Handa Industries and Bangladesh Garment Division Employees Donate to Support Flood Relief

Bangladesh has recently been battered by persistent heavy monsoon rains, which have triggered widespread flooding, landslides and other disasters across the country. Numerous communities have been submerged, residents’ daily lives severely disrupted, and vast numbers of people have been displaced amid the catastrophe, leaving local livelihood support and post-disaster recovery facing grave challenges. Moved by the dire disaster situation, Handa Industries stepped forward promptly to fulfill its corporate social responsibility. Together with staff from its Bangladesh Garment Division, the enterprise launched a charity donation drive, extending tangible support to disaster-hit areas in Bangladesh and assisting local authorities with emergency rescue operations and livelihood security work in the aftermath of the floods.

Upholding the corporate original aspiration of striving for goodness and giving back to society, Handa Industries fully fulfills the social responsibilities of a multinational enterprise and swiftly rolls out public welfare donation arrangements. For this disaster relief initiative, Handa Industries made a dedicated corporate donation of 200,000 Bangladeshi Taka. Meanwhile, employees of the Bangladesh Garment Division took an active part in the charity fundraiser, raising an additional 72,000 Bangladeshi Taka. Uniting efforts side by side, the enterprise and its staff pooled a total charitable fund of 272,000 Bangladeshi Taka. All donated funds will be formally handed over to the World Food Programme (WFP) through official channels of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The money will be exclusively allocated to disaster relief work for flood-affected populations in Bangladesh, including food provision, daily necessities aid and emergency resettlement, so as to effectively alleviate the hardships of people in the disaster-stricken areas.

Thanks to standardized donation procedures, down-to-earth public welfare initiatives and sincere commitment to social responsibility, Handa Industries has earned high recognition from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for its disaster relief efforts in Bangladesh and officially received a thank-you letter issued by the Chamber.
