Cool Summer · Warm Care for Female Riders — Handa Charity Reaches Nanjian Community

Under scorching sun and sweltering heat, the sustained high temperature weather has posed severe challenges to delivery riders working hard on city streets. Recently, the Handa Charitable Foundation of Wuxi donated a batch of heat relief supplies including mineral water to Nanjian Community. Distributed via the community service station, these gifts were delivered to female food delivery riders shuttling across neighbourhoods, bringing them coolness and heartfelt care.

Female food delivery riders are indispensable "ferry‑keepers" of urban life. Regardless of bitter cold or scorching summer heat, they travel day and night in all weather, safeguarding the convenient life of thousands of households with their hard earned sweat. In the hot summer season, long hours of outdoor cycling bring heavy workloads and a high risk of heatstroke. Their hard work and well being have touched the hearts of people from all walks of life.

A few days ago, these heat relief supplies were delivered to the Nanjian Community Service Station. Staff members at the site took charge of distribution and brought summer coolness to female food delivery riders who came to collect the gifts. “It is so hot out there. Receiving this thoughtful gift really warms my heart. I feel my work has been seen and respected,” said one female rider who picked up the supplies at the station.

This consolation event received care and guidance from civil affairs authorities in Wuxi. Caring for outdoor workers is an important focus for Handa Charitable Foundation to fulfill its social responsibility and pass on the warmth of the city. Going forward, the Handa Charitable Foundation of Wuxi will keep a close eye on workers in new forms of employment and launch more demand oriented public welfare activities to give back to society and spread love with practical actions.
